Update from the Doll Frontier: LLCs, Domains, and Daring Doll Dimensions

Greetings, doll enthusiasts and curious onlookers! I bring you a thrilling update from the frontlines of my new doll business. Hold onto your hats (or should I say, hold onto your dolls?), because things are getting real.

First off, I’m officially a business owner! Yes, you can now address me as the proud proprietor of a shiny new LLC. I’ve also acquired the domain name LilMissyDolls.com. That’s right, we’re moving on up in the digital world!

But let me tell you, this journey has been nothing short of hilarious. I’ve spent countless hours measuring the original Lil Missy doll body from the 1970s. Picture me, a grown adult, obsessively measuring a tiny doll like it’s the Rosetta Stone of crafting. Then, in a quest for doll perfection, I delved into the realm of typical human female measurements. Google now thinks I’m some kind of doll-making mad scientist.

But why stop there? I went even further and studied the divine proportions of Barbie dolls. I was determined to find the Goldilocks dimensions for my new doll body— not too big, not too small, but just right.

Armed with my newfound knowledge, I ventured into the world of clay. And let’s just say, I quickly discovered that I am not, by any stretch of the imagination, an artist. My first few prototypes looked like abstract art pieces, but I persevered.

Enter my talented husband, who has not only tolerated my doll obsession but has also dived in headfirst. He’s learned how to make molds out of my clay creations. Honestly, he’s become a wizard with molds, producing several samples of each for me to play with. Our kitchen now doubles as a mold-making workshop. Dinner is served with a side of doll parts.

So here we are, in the experimental phase. I’m testing different types of foam and body shapes to determine the final design for the new Li’l Missy Doll business. It’s like a science experiment, but with more glitter and fewer explosions (so far).

Stay tuned, doll lovers! The journey to perfecting the new Lil Missy Dolls continues, and I promise it will be worth the laughs, the late nights, and the slightly confused looks from the neighbors. Onward to doll-making glory!
